Your MCP access

Check your approved datasets or contact us about MCP from the Research application.

MCP access is provided for each approved user. Research subscriptions and bulk delivery are separate.

Before you connect

Prepare your account and connection details, then follow the steps for your assistant.

Your account

Use the email address approved for SoftwareIQ MCP access.

Your AI assistant

Choose Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex. If your organization manages the app, ask its administrator to enable SoftwareIQ.

Have the connection details sent by SoftwareIQ ready, then follow the steps for your assistant below.

Connect your assistant

Choose your assistant, add SoftwareIQ, and sign in to your account.

ClaudeWeb and desktop connectors

Add SoftwareIQ in Claude’s connectors, then sign in to your SoftwareIQ account.

  1. Open your connectors

    Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. For an organization, ask its owner to add SoftwareIQ under Organization settings → Connectors.

  2. Add the server

    Name the connection SoftwareIQ and paste the connection URL below.

  3. Enter your setup details

    Choose the sign-in option. If Claude asks for a Client ID or other setup fields, enter the details we sent you.

  4. Connect your account

    Finish adding the connector, choose Connect, and sign in with your SoftwareIQ account.

  5. Enable it in a conversation

    Open the conversation’s + menu, choose Connectors, and enable SoftwareIQ. Ask the connection-check question below.

ChatGPTCustom MCP connection

Add SoftwareIQ to ChatGPT, sign in, and select it in a conversation.

  1. Confirm workspace access

    Open ChatGPT Plugins, choose the plus button, and select Add custom MCP server. Ask your administrator to allow custom connections if this option is unavailable.

  2. Create the connection

    Name it SoftwareIQ, add a short description, choose the public endpoint option, and paste the connection URL. Select OAuth if asked to choose an authentication method.

  3. Enter your setup details

    If ChatGPT asks for a Client ID or other setup fields, enter the details we sent you.

  4. Sign in to SoftwareIQ

    Finish creating the connection and sign in with your SoftwareIQ account when prompted.

  5. Use it in a conversation

    Install the resulting custom plugin, start a new conversation, type @, and select SoftwareIQ. Ask the connection-check question below.

CodexCLI and IDE extension

Add SoftwareIQ to Codex, sign in, and start a new session.

  1. Confirm your connection details

    Have the connection details we sent you ready.

  2. Add SoftwareIQ

    Run the command below in your terminal. Replace YOUR_MCP_CLIENT_ID with the value in your SoftwareIQ setup details.

  3. Sign in to SoftwareIQ

    Run the command below and sign in with your SoftwareIQ account in the browser. Return to Codex when sign-in is complete.

  4. Check the configuration

    Check that SoftwareIQ appears in the list.

Confirm the connection

Ask your agent:

Use SoftwareIQ to check what research data is available for MongoDB.

Your assistant should use SoftwareIQ and return information about the company’s available data.

Reconnect

If your assistant asks you to sign in again or your connection stops working, follow these steps. You usually do not need to add SoftwareIQ again.

Claude

  1. Open your connectors

    Go to Customize → Connectors and find SoftwareIQ.

  2. Connect again

    Choose Connect or Reconnect if shown. Sign in with the same SoftwareIQ account you used before.

  3. Enable SoftwareIQ

    Return to your conversation and enable SoftwareIQ in the + menu under Connectors.

ChatGPT

  1. Open your connection

    Find SoftwareIQ in your ChatGPT plugins or connection settings.

  2. Sign in again

    Use the connection’s reconnect or sign-in action if shown, then sign in with your SoftwareIQ account.

  3. Resume your conversation

    Start a new conversation and select SoftwareIQ again.

Codex

  1. Sign in again

    Run this command and complete sign-in in your browser.

    Restart your Codex session or reload your editor, then ask it to use SoftwareIQ.

Prompting tips

Ask a research question in plain language. You do not need to supply company IDs or tool names.

Name the company and question
Use a company name or ticker and describe the research task. Your agent can resolve identifiers and choose the tools.
Specify a useful time period
Say “the last 12 months” or provide dates. For financial metrics, ask for quarterly or annual results; for hiring and adoption, specify daily or weekly trends when relevant.
Choose the output
Ask for a concise summary, a comparison table, or an explanation of changes. Request source links and freshness when you intend to share the result.
Ask it to explain gaps
Ask the agent to flag missing coverage and changes in comparability. Keep adoption sources separate because downloads, pulls, and provider activity measure different things.

Example research questions

Company research

Use SoftwareIQ to summarize MongoDB’s latest reported operating KPIs and guidance. Include source links.

Hiring trends

Use SoftwareIQ to compare Snowflake’s and MongoDB’s hiring trends over the last six months. Show a table and explain any coverage gaps.

Adoption Signals

Use SoftwareIQ to review MongoDB’s weekly Adoption Signals over the last three months. Summarize the trend for each available source separately.

I cannot find SoftwareIQ in my assistant
Follow the setup steps above. If your organization manages the assistant, ask its administrator to enable the connection.
I am asked for setup details I do not have
Contact SoftwareIQ support and tell us which assistant you are using. We’ll help you complete the setup.
I signed in, but cannot access data
Check your MCP access in Research and make sure you used your approved email address.
My connection stopped working
Follow the reconnect steps above. If it still fails, contact support with your assistant’s name and the message you see.
